Prior to joining the WMS team, Alex received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, Smith School of Business, with a concentration in finance and strategy.  Following graduate school, he worked in the Private Bank at Credit Suisse as a Relationship Manager working with high-net worth individuals and families. What quality of yours make you best suited to what you do?

WMS is an incredibly tight-knit team, and I believe a lifetime of playing sports has instilled a team-first mentality in me.  The strength of our internal team manifests itself into strong partnerships with our clients and I’m excited to use my skill-set to help continue the  great client-focused tradition at WMS.

What do you love to do outside of work?

The thing I enjoy most is spending time with my wife, Heidi, our three young children, and our dog.  I especially enjoy volunteering as a coach for my kids’ sports teams as it reminds me of my younger days playing sports and being coached by my father and brother.  Outside of my family I enjoy exercise and playing club lacrosse, although I’ve lost a step…or two.

What’s the most influential book you’ve read?

Tony Hsieh: Delivering Happiness.  Delivering Happiness is a great book for anyone on outside-the-box thinking and how it applies to leadership and building a successful company and culture.  It is applicable to not just leading a company, but how concentrating on the happiness and growth of those around you – whether it be friends, family, or colleagues in the office – helps lead to a greater collaborative success.
